  Autoclaveable Flip Dispenser

      
 


With the Autoclaveable Flip Dispenser the stir elements are added to wells of microplates before the liquid is added.  These dispensers can be sterilized by autoclaving, heating in a hot air oven or by alcohol and flaming.  These dispensers contain ordered depressions in an aluminum housing, which are large enough to accommodate just one stir element.  Filling the dispenser and loading a microplate are accomplished with a simple flip of the dispenser with a microplate on top. 

A key factor in loading the stir elements into the dispensers is that they must not be magnetic.  If they are magnetic they will stick together and not fill the depressions.  A simple pass over the VP 781 demagnetizer removes all residual magnetic fields.

An alternative use for our flip dispensers is to dispense solids/powders.

Autoclaveable Flip Dispensers for Solids/Powders

  
 


With the Autoclaveable Flip Dispenser the solids or powder are added to wells of microplates. These dispensers can be sterilized by autoclaving, heating in a hot air oven or by alcohol and flaming. These dispensers contain ordered depressions in an aluminum housing, which will dispense an equal amount of solids or powder into each well. To use the Flip Dispenser, add an excess amount of the solids or powder to be dispensed to the Flip Dispenser, shake around until all depressions are filled and remove excess with the included scraper. Filling the dispenser and loading a microplate are accomplished with a simple flip of the dispenser with a microplate on top.

   
         
         
         


Autoclaveable Drop Tumble Stirrer Dispenser

  
 


Autoclaveable Drop Dispensers are used to place sterile stir elements (Discs, bars or dowels)  into wells after the liquid is added to the wells. These dispensers can be sterilized by autoclaving or by heating in a hot air oven. These dispensers contain ordered depressions in an top plenum. The depressions are large enough to accommodate just one stir element.

 

Once the depressions are filled with stir elements a scraping bar is slid over the top of the depressions to remove excess stir elements.  The dispenser is then placed over the microplate and the top plenum adjusted so the plenum holes align with holes in a bottom plenum and the stir elements fall into the wells. The bay at the right side of the dispenser can be filled with enough stir elements to fill 4 microplates without reloading, just slide the scraping bar to the left and fill the depressions and repeat. This is a simple and aseptic method of loading liquid filled wells with sterile stirrers.

The VP 722F-2D dispenser differs from the VP 721D in that the depressions are deeper to accommodate the thicker VP 722F-2 discs, (.63mm versus 1.2 mm thick).

The difference between the VP 716D and the VP 724D-1 is the diameter and depth of the depressions.
