Trapeze

     
 


The V&P "Burt Lancaster" Trapeze Stirrers were designed to stir the contents of vials or wells with out touching the bottom of the vessel.  They consist of a "U" shaped trapeze bar with a magnetic wire with a tight coil and 2 arms ("spinner") over the bar.  When placed over a VP 710 series Rotary Magnetic Tumble Stirrer the "spinner" is coupled with the rotating magnetic and spins thus mixing the contents of the vessel.   This allows for the liquid to be thoroughly mixed with out disturbing cells, crystals or membranes on the bottom of well or vial.

 
 
 


The VP 791-96 at the right is used to stir the contents of Millipore donor plates. The VP 791-96 has adjustment screws that allow the height of the "spinners" to be adjusted up and down.

  Paddle/Trapeze Style Stirrers

     
 


The VP 791P series Paddle/Trapeze stir elements are constructed of PTFE Paddles and Frames with Nylon bearings and magnetic discs coated with parylene to drive the Paddles.  The Paddle/Trapeze design minimizes the contact with the bottom of the vessel.  These stir discs are either made with NdFeB (42 MGO), NdFeB (52 MGO), or SmCo (29 MGO) Magnets.   The higher the MGO rating the more powerful the stirrer and the greater the viscosity of liquid that can be stirred.  The reason for the variety in the type of magnetic disc has to do with the cost and sensitivity of the various magnetic materials to high temperatures.  Thus we have provided a selection of stirrer magnetic material to accommodate our customer’s stirring applications while the mechanical (PTFE- Nylon) part is identical.

  • NdFeB (42 MGO) magnets have a max 150C operating temperature.

  • NdFeB (52 MGO) magnets have a max 80C operating temperature.

  • SmCo (29 MGO) magnets have a max 300C operating temperature.

These stir bars provide strong mixing when combined with any of our  VP 710 Tumble Stirrer systems.  Furthermore they work very effectively with flat or square bottomed vessels.

 
 


VP 791P__-42-32 series

     
 


The VP 791PN42-42-32 is a Trapeze-Style Sandwich Stir Element.   It has a flat paddle suspended above the bottom of the container.  The PTFE suspension system is 41.7mm wide and 31.7mm tall with 150C Maximum Operating Temperature NdFeB (42 MGO) Magnetic discs.
 

The VP 791PN48-42-32 is a Trapeze-Style Sandwich Stir Element.   It has a flat paddle suspended above the bottom of the container.  The PTFE suspension system is 41.7mm wide and 31.7mm tall with 80C Maximum Operating Temperature NdFeB (48 MGO) Magnetic discs.
 

The VP 791PS29-42-32 is a Trapeze-Style Sandwich Stir Element.   It has a flat paddle suspended above the bottom of the container.  The PTFE suspension system is 41.7mm wide and 31.7mm tall with 300C Maximum Operating Temperature SmCo (29 MGO) Magnetic discs.

VP 791P__-42-43 Series

 
 


The VP 791P__-42-43 Series  uses larger magnetic discs than the VP 791P__-42-32 Series and is able to stir, mix or re-suspend heavier or more viscous materials.


The VP 791PN42-42-43 is a Trapeze-Style Sandwich Stir Element.   It has a flat paddle suspended above the bottom of the container.  The PTFE suspension system is 41.7mm wide and 43.3mm tall with a 150C Maximum Operating Temperature NdFeB (42 MGO) Magnet.
 

The VP 791PN48-42-43 is a Trapeze-Style Sandwich Stir Element.   It has a flat paddle suspended above the bottom of the container.  The PTFE suspension system is 41.7mm wide and 43.3mm tall with a 80C Maximum Operating Temperature NdFeB (48 MGO) Magnet.
 

The VP 791PS29-42-43 is a Trapeze-Style Sandwich Stir Element.   It has a flat paddle suspended above the bottom of the container.  The PTFE suspension system is 41.7mm wide and 43.3mm tall with a 300C Maximum Operating Temperature SmCo (29 MGO) Magnet.
