The VP 771MDWM-1 is a 13 bar magnet style separation device for 96 well microplates. It works particularly well with 96 deep well blocks due to the strength and high
number of magnetic bars utilized. This design not only pulls the beads down at a very fast rate (under 1 minute), it also has a very far reach to pull down magnetic beads from the top of deep well
microplates. See the following video for a demonstration of our VP 771MDWM-1 vs the Agencourt with a 96 deep well block.

have spaces between the wells accessible from the bottom of
the plate.

The VP 771HW-1-H4C was designed so the liquid
contents of the well could be removed by simply decanting or
“flicking” the contents into a sink and blotting off the
remainder on a paper towel. Magnetic beads are securely
held the sides of the wells as
illustrated with the VP 771HA.
|
|
 |
|
|
|
The VP 771HW-1-H4C consists of 3 parts, a base which
contains a silicone rubber ring that provides a secure
gripping region for grasping the system while forcefully
flicking the liquid contents, registration guides that
locate both the magnetic separation block and the microplate
to the base and an adjustable clip system that securely
holds the microplate to magnetic separation block. The
adjustable clip system (arrows) can accommodate a wide list
of different 96 well microplates.

magnets that are 42 MGO. The VP 771LB-1 uses smaller magnets
to create a smaller pellet then VP 771LA. This version is
SBS dimensioned to fit most plate
locating holders on robotic workstation decks.

VP 771LC-1C is a 24 round post NdFeB magnetic bead separator
block for 96 well PCR plates with half skirts. It has a
raised edge for PCR plate skirt to rest on. This system
uses 24 magnets that are 52 MGO. The VP 771LC-1C uses
thinner NdFeB magnets to create an even smaller pellet than
VP 771LB-1. Outer dimensions of block are not SBS standard,

VP 771PM-A is a 24 square post NdFeB magnetic bead separator block for 96 deep well microplates. This system uses 24 of our VP 783NR-3-3-28-A magnets
that are 52 MGO. Unlike the VP 771PM, these magnets are oriented through the thickness (side to side) and not the length (up and down). The resulting
separation is an even pellet surface along the along the magnet rather than at the tips. The system mates and includes a VP 771G-4RM which holds and
registers the microplates to the VP 771PM-A. The VP 771G-4RM is designed to use with manual aspiration and dispensing manifolds.

The VP 771G-4A
Magnetic Separation Device is designed for high-throughput bio-separation
using paramagnetic particles in 384-well microplates (flat bottom or
conical (PCR plates). By placing 4 powerful (52 MGO Neodymium Iron
Boron) magnets around every well, paramagnetic beads are pulled to the
four corners permitting the aspiration of the supernatant from the center
of the well. The photo to the right illustrates
the 2 components of the VP 771G-4A, the VP 771G-4SA magnetic
separation plate and the VP 771G-4R registration system for
microplates. These two units working in tandem
can accommodate any style of 384 well microplate and any
microplate holder system.
See our VP 179A - VP 179BJ
aspiration manifold jig system for removing supernatants from 384 well
microplates. We also offer a dispensing system for
adding bead wash solutions to the 384 well microplates while
on the magnetic separation block, the
VP 179A -
VP 179BJD-PLUS. |
|
 |
|
| |
The VP 771G-4A
conforms to the SBS footprint (127.7 mm x 85.48 mm) so that it can be
placed in any robotic deck station or other device with a SBS holding
profile. The VP 771G-4A is also designed as a low profile device with
only 7.5 mm Z height. Microplates can be placed on the VP 771G-4A and
will be registered by the trace around the edge of the device. This
feature of the VP 771-4 allows compatibility with any plate processing
laboratory robot with a plate gripper.

The V&P 48 MGO High-energy neodymium iron boron magnets placed in 4 corners around every well are able to produce 4 very tight pellets in the corners of each well, leaving the center available for aspiration. The strength of our high energy magnets
leads to rapid separation of paramagnetic beads and holds the beads
tightly to the bottom of the wells.
|
|
 |
|
| |
The VP 771G-4A is
compatible with most 384 well microplates as well as conical well PCR
microplate as illustrated on the right. In order to accommodate the
conical well PCR the VP 771G-4A has 384 holes between the magnets as
illustrated in the photo below and to the right.

The aluminum registration base (VP

4 allen screws in the locating fingers. This unique
ability to use as a low profile separation block or in a
raised position allows it to be used in all microplate
holding systems. Also the locating fingers allow the
separation units to be stacked on top of each other without
being stuck together. |

The VP 771QW-1-H4C was designed so the liquid
contents of the wells could be removed by simply decanting
or “flicking” the contents into a sink and blotting off the
remainder on a paper towel.
|
|
 |
|
|
|
The VP 771QW-1-H4C consists of 3 parts, a base which
contains a silicone rubber ring that provides a secure
gripping region for grasping the system while forcefully
flicking the liquid contents, registration guides that
locate both the magnetic separation block and the microplate
to the base and an adjustable clip system that securely
holds the microplate to magnetic separation block. The
adjustable clip system (arrows) can accommodate a wide list
of different 384 well microplates.
|
|
 |
|
|
|
The photo on the right illustrates how the base can be
securely grasped by some one with small hands.
|
|
 |
|
|
|
The 2 photos on right below illustrate how the plate can be
blotted dry.
|
|
 |
|

The ability to remove liquid contents by merely flicking out
the contents and blotting dry greatly speeds up the assay
and eliminates the need for expensive aspiration equipment.

The VP 771Z-384 is a Jig we designed for one of our
academic customers who did not have a robot to process his
magnetic bead assays. This Adjustable Jig allows you to
raise or lower the distance your pipet tips are from the
bottom of the well in a 384 well plate when you are using a
hand held pipetor. . (A similar Jig could be made for a 96
well plate.)
|
|
 |
|
| |
The jig’s four “feet” rest on our VP 771G-4RM base
and the Jig plate can be simply raised and lowered by
adjusting the “leg” height.
|
|
 |
|
| |
Precisely drilled holes in the Jig’s platform will only
allow pipet tips to penetrate a defined distance. Thus by
adjusting the legs we can determine and control the height
of the pipet tips from the bottom of the wells.
