VP 771E-2

The VP 771E-2 Magnetic Separation Device is designed for high-throughput bio-separation using paramagnetic particles in 96-well microplates with an open architecture on the bottom so the magnetic posts can protrude between the wells.    Open architecture plates such as the

Greiner 655101 Flat-Bottom Well Polystyrene
Greiner 650101 U-Bottom Well Polystyrene
Corning 3956 Clear V-Bottom Deep Well 0.5mL Polypropylene
Corning 3958 Clear V-Bottom Deep Well 1.0mL Polypropylene
and most other microplates that have spaces between the wells accessible from the bottom of the plate.

Dimensions:

Width - 127.76mm
Length - 85.48mm
Height - 28.58mm

By placing a powerful (48 MGO Neodynium Boron) magnet between every 4 wells, the paramagnetic beads are pulled to the side of the wells permitting the aspiration of the supernatant from the center of the well or from a corner.  See our slant angled manifold VP 178D or the  VP 179A - VP 178BJ aspiration manifold jig system for removing supernatants from 96 well microplates.

We also offer several dispensing systems for adding bead wash solutions to the 96 well microplates while on the magnetic separation block (VP 177AD-PLUS, VP 177AD-1-PLUS and VP 179A jig system with either the VP 178JD-PLUS or VP 178BJD-PLUS).

The tight pellets produced by the VP 771E-2 are illustrated in the photo to the right.

The VP 771E-2 has an SBS foot print that fits into the angled VP 381E.  This holds the plate at angle which in conjunction with the angled aspirating tubes placed in the lowest corner of the wells facilitates the complete removal of liquid from the wells while leaving the pellet held to the side of the wells.

T
he VP 771H Magnetic Separation Device is designed for high-throughput bio-separation using paramagnetic particles in 96-well microplates with either a flat solid bottom so there are 9 magnetic posts surrounding each well to attract the magnetic beads to the bottom of the wells or it can also function with conical well (PCR) 96 well plates to attract the magnetic beads to 9 sides of each well as the conical tips fit into holes between the magnets.

VP 771J

The VP 771J Magnetic Separation Device is designed for high-throughput bio-separation using paramagnetic particles in 96-well microplates with either a flat solid bottom so there is a single magnetic post under each well to attract the magnetic beads to the bottom of the wells or it can also function with conical well (PCR) 96 well plates to attract the magnetic beads to the bottom of each well.

384 Well Microplate Magnetic Bead Separation Systems

VP 771G-4

The VP 771G-4 Magnetic Separation Device is designed for high-throughput bio-separation using paramagnetic particles in 384-well microplates (flat bottom or conical (PCR plates).   By placing 4 powerful (48 MGO Neodynium Boron) magnets around every well, paramagnetic beads are pulled to the four corners permitting the aspiration of the supernatant from the center of the well.  The photo to the right illustrates the 2 components of the VP 771G-4, the VP 771G-4S magnetic separation plate and the VP 771G-4R registration system for microplates.   These two units working in tandem can accommodate any style of 384 well microplate and any microplate holder system.

See our VP 179A - VP 179BJ aspiration manifold jig system for removing supernatants from 384 well microplates.

We also offer a dispensing system for adding bead wash solutions to the 384 well microplates while on the magnetic separation block, the VP 179A - VP 179BJD-PLUS.

The VP 771G-4 conforms to the SBS footprint (127.7 mm x 85.48 mm) so that it can be placed in any robotic deck station or other device with a SBS holding profile.  The VP 771G-4 is also designed as a low profile device with only 7.5 mm Z height.  Microplates can be placed on the VP 771G-4 and will be registered by the trace around the edge of the device.  This feature of the VP 771-4 allows compatibility with any plate processing laboratory robot with a plate gripper.

The photo on the right illustrates a Griener polypropylene 384 microplate with Promega super-paramagnetic beads with out magnetic separation blocks.

The V&P 48 Mega Gauss Orestad magnets High-energy neodymium iron boron magnets placed in 4 corners around every well is able to produce 4 very tight pellets in the corners of very well leaving the center of each well available for aspiration.  The strength of our high energy magnets leads to rapid separation of paramagnetic beads and holds the beads tightly to the bottom of the wells.

The VP 771G-4 is compatible with most 384 well microplates as well as conical well PCR microplate as illustrated on the right.  In order to accommodate the conical well PCR the VP 771G-4 has 384 holes between the magnets as illustrated in the photo below and to the right.

The aluminum registration base (VP 771G-4R) is attached to the separation block VP 771G-4S via 4 allen screws in the locating fingers.  This unique ability to use as a low profile separation block or in a raised position allows it to be used in all microplate holding systems.  Also the locating fingers allow the separation units to be stacked on top of each other without being stuck together.
